Why did you restore the old edit? I did a lot of work on that page. I can certainly move elsewhere, but that's pretty lame thing to do especially when this wiki needs so much work.

nevermind -- do whatever you want

Please don't give up so quickly. Your article isn't lost, it's still in the history and with some improvements it'll be fine. Let me give you one example what's wrong: "* Encryption - keep important data confidential using the same technologies your web browser uses. Known as FTP over SSL/TLS or FTPS.". Actually there are many possible ways to encrypt the data. FTPS is just one of them. The section "Restricting Administrative Access" is misleading. In it's default configuration only local access is allowed, it doesn't need to be secured . The user's IP address (192.168.*) is a wrong assumption, there are other local address ranges despite 192.168.*

"It is strongly recommended you have at least a DSL or Cable connection to run any FTP Server." There are plenty of other reasons to use FTP. I use it for example to transfer data between my computers in my local network. Don' need DSL or Cable for that.

[edit] Update

You should update this MediaWiki to the latest version (1.12.0) [1]. Well, it isn't necessary, but it would be nice. Cheers. --Just visiting 13:27, 21 March 2008 (CET)

Hey dude, thanks for maintaining and keeping this page updated. Used it for getting Mingw/MSYS working on my PC (under VMware), to verify if the latest Ming cvs works or doesn't work on it. (It does, time for the next Ming release candidate!)
