So much about filezilla server remains unanswered. For instance, what does "bind IP addresses to server" do? I have no idea.

The listening TCP socket can be bound to a specific set of the host's IP addresses - for instance, binding to 192.168.0.1 (assuming this is one of the server's IP addresses) should only permit connections from other hosts on the 192.168.x.y network (assuming a 255.255.0.0 netmask). Not sure this is actually working properly...

Even more perturbing is when entering IP addresses in the IP filter lists, filezilla will balk at entries like: 3.0.0.0-3.255.255.255 4.0.0.0-4.255.255.255

To my knowledge, these are perfectly valid IP ranges. However, filezilla will quite mysteriously refuse to accept them.

Seems to have been fixed?

Need Detail on "Enable" Box Attributes

The 'Enable' box for user accounts can be set to one of three modes. These are none, check mark and the last is a green square. I think I have the none and check mark selection figured out, but what does it mean when the box is filled with a green square?

It means inherit from group. --CodeSquid 15:35, 16 November 2007 (CET)

what or where are instructions for MAC?

WHAT I WANT TO DO IS LOAD SOME FILES FROM AN APPLICATION CALLED TAPES ON ON IPHONE TO MY MAC COMPUTER VIA FTP. I DOWNLOADED THE FILZILLA SOFTWARE FOR MY COMPUTER. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FILL IT OUT.

FOR EXAMPLE, WHAT DO YOU PUT IN FOR LOCAL SITE? OR REMOTE SITE? IS THAT THE SAME AS THE FTP ADDRESS I NEED TO PUT IN? I WANT TO SEND THE FILES FROM MY IPHONE OVER MY HOME NETWORK TO MY COMPUTER. I TRIED OTHER METHODS WHICH DID NOT WORK, SO THE REP FOR THE TAPES.APP SUGGESTED THIS ONE.

Please don't use all-caps, it's the equivalent of yelling. --CodeSquid 06:47, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

I wish to block all IP addresses with a few exceptions, but cannot find out how to enter the values correctly.

What is the format for entering IP Address restrictions in the Groups or Users configuration areas?

Thank you.

Need help by installing FZ on SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10/SP2!

Kernel version: 2.6.16.60-0.21-smp

What I've done: 1. download of FileZilla_3.2.7.1_i586-linux-gnu.tar.bz2, 2. uncompress with bunzip2 3. tar xvf FileZilla_3.2.7.1_i586-linux-gnu.tar 4. Start with: /opt/FileZilla3/bin/filezilla -> Error: bin/filezilla: error while loading shared libraries: libtasn1.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Where can I find this library, or what is wrong with it?

TIA
