FileZilla Server is a server that supports '''FTP''' and '''FTP over SSL/TLS''' which provides secure encrypted connections to the server.
The command line FTP ceinlt is hanging when I attempt to get a file or even ls a directory. I followed the steps above but it's still hanging. The Windows Security Alert dialog (on which the File Transfer Program could be  unblocked') never appears. I've confirmed  Display a notification' is enabled on all three profile tabs. Rebooting hasn't helped. It even hangs if I disable the Windows Firewall altogether! I'm stumped. Any ideas?

FileZilla supports SSL, the same level of encryption supported by your web browser, to protect your data. When using SSL your data is encrypted so that prying eyes cannot see it, and your confidential information is protected. It also supports on-the-fly data compression, which can improve the transfer rates.

Unfortunately, the compression setting can have mixed results, so it is advised to use it with care. It is possible for files that are already compressed to be transferred over the network using more than their original data size.

Support for SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) is not implemented in Filezilla Server.

After installation, make sure FileZilla Server is registered as allowed programs to the built-in firewall's allowed programs. In the Control Panel, select System and Security. In Windows Firewall section, choose 'Allowed Programs' to open configuration window. Check '''both''' private and public network selection for FileZilla server. If private network is not selected, the incoming FTP connection would be blocked.
