SFTP vs. FTPS (HIPAA compliance ?)
Hello,
I have a quick question about Filezilla server with FTPS. How secure is it comparing to SFTP protocol? Is FileZilla FTPS HIPAA compliance? I am working on a secure file transfer server setup project for a client and the client needs provide a secure file transfer service his clients, which contains people's social security numbers, etc.
Thank you for your support in advance.
- From a cryptographic standpoint both FTPS and SFTP are known to be secure if implemented correctly. As non-US citizen I'm not qualified to answer question on HIPAA compliance. Please hire an expert in US laws and regulations. --CodeSquid (talk) 19:11, 10 August 2015 (CEST)
Does FileZilla support 2-way TLS authentication in FTPS-sessions using a certificate on smartcard or USB-token?
I am looking for a FTPS-client that supports 2-way TLS authentication using a certificate on a smartcard or USB-token (through Microsoft Crypto API or PKCS#11 adapter). Does FileZilla support this?
