Thank you for your comment, Marjory! A place where we feel safe to exrople our creativity is so important, and I'm not sure I addressed that aspect. Thank you for bringing it into the conversation![]

Hi Ninja,Great website.  You have hleepd me a tremendous amount with my Xoom.  I have a general question for you about custom roms.  There are 3 things I’m looking to do and am growing tired of waiting on Moto/Google.1.Gingerbread for Evo 4g (so I can root & tether my Xoom to my Evo for free).  My previous Evo with Froyo was rooted but the phone was recently replaced and I decided I would wait on Gingerbread.2.SD Card access on the Xoom3.Netflix on the XoomFor all 3 of these points I know I need to be rooted or running a custom rom if I want these things immediately (please correct me if I’m wrong).  I have been comfortable with rooting in the past but I’m a little nervous about the custom roms from a security standpoint. Thus far I have heard about all of the access & performance benefits of custom roms and the only negative is the very low potential of bricking your device.  What I do not understand is the potential ability for someone to get access to passwords, credit card #’s or other personal information on your device if you are using someone’s custom rom (Is it possible for them to develop some type of “backdoor” to your information).  My apologies if this sounds absolutely ridiculous.ThanksKiser
