I would say that most media problems arise when their is clnfoict of race, gender, nationalism, idealogy, ethnicity, or political system. These are the things that are exposed within the media, and they are usually entwined with eachother. Therefore, I would say that the best approach to understanding how media impacts society is to take the holistic approach, and not through classical mechanics. Through psychology, sociology, ethics, and an aware/observant approach to study the media, the problem solving can come about once both parties in clnfoict stop pointing the finger and come to a peaceful/moral solution. Individual political and economic gain must be left out of the matter as well. There needs to be a mutual feeling on both sides of the front that we are all connected and a part of the same environment, which hopefully will lead to more self-less acts and help promote constructive communication. All of the religions of the world should come together and discuss similar core beliefs and values, and should start working with eachother more to promote the things all of us have in common, which will help support a positive media system. This may not be enough, so the change in the educational system will be very important in contributing to global positive change in communcations. Although literacy in school is important, the education system, from the begining needs to hold creativity as one of its most important values in guiding and supporting students. My view seems to follow the WE section of the 4 square chart, where there will be a positive collective world view, while still preserving cultural diversity through mutual respect and reverence towards others who are different than us.
