Introduction[edit]
The "FileZilla" project actually encompasses two different pieces of software:
FileZilla Client is a program for transferring files from (and to) so-called FTP servers.
If you encounter an Internet link which starts with ftp:// instead of http://, the file will be fetched from an FTP server. In contrast to usual web browsers, FileZilla doesn't only offer you the possibility to download files, it also offers you to upload, rename and manage files and whole directory trees as well. Please read on here
FileZilla Server is an FTP server, i.e. a program allowing file upload/download.
Using FileZilla Server you can quickly set up a server for internal file exchange as well as for providing files over the internet. Please read on here
